The Kamacuras, known in the English dub as Gimantis, are a species of 2-meter tall praying mantises who were mutated by a failed weather experiment. Growing to 40-50 meters tall, these humongous insects are vicious opponents, though they are no match for Godzilla.

Showa HistoryEdit

A group of Kamacuras were mutated by a failed weather experiment. Finding a giant egg, they hacked it open, revealing a baby Minilla. They started to attack him, but his cries were answered by the arrival of Godzilla himself. The Kamacuras attacked, throwing rocks, one of which hit Minilla. However, Godzilla fought back and eventually killed two while the third Kmacuras fled the scene by flying away.

Later on, the Kamacuras returned, trying to eat Saeko the Island girl. However, Minilla came across the Kamacuras and attempted to save Saeko. He tried to blast the Kamacuras with his atomic rays, but they weren't strong enough and came out as weak smoke rings. The Kamacuras hit him in the face, causing him to whack a rock with his tail, which the Kamacuras hit back at him, which struck him in his face, stunning him. During the struggle, Minilla accidently knocked over some rocks which crashed into a canyon where the giant spider Kumonga slept, waking him from his sleep. At the same time, Godzilla arrived and blasted the insect twice before it fled. Kumonga then rose and captured Minilla. As he was about to kill the baby, the Kamacuras appeared and, seeing the giant spider, tried to fly away, but was webbed by the spider and brought down. Kumonga approached the Kamacuras and stabbed it with his poisonous stinger, injecting it with poison and killing it.
